The Butterfly Queen - OOAK One of A Kind Collectible Art Doll

£225.00 / Sold Out

The Butterfly Queen lays in her beautiful pearl and crystal casket, finally at peace. Her delicate eyelashes brush her cold cheeks, tiny little veins and gentle pink lips show a little life left inside her.

Her crown sits tightly upon her head, made of bronze in the shape of the butterflies she ruled for centuries. Her hands, long fingered with sharp golden nails, hold onto a heart, still red with fresh blood. She rests quietly, forever more.

The Butterfly Queen was originally a Lagoona Blue Monster High Doll. She is one of an adopted box of broken and damaged dolls, much like my Victoria Everglot before her, she had to be adapted to work around her damage.

Lagoona had her neck broken, the plastic part which holds her head up had snapped and this can be nearly impossible to fix in some cases, so I had to be creative! I built up her costume to cover her neck and as I worked the story came through. She makes a most beautiful Butterfly Queen!

Her casket/coffin is the original Monster High Draculaura Jewellery box, dismantled and covered in rich royal blue velvet and almost 600 pearls (not counting the pearls on her gown!) and around 300 crystals*!

The box does open and close allowing you to display Her Majesty in or out of the box.

Her gown is vintage lace with an embroidered gold and cream pattern which carries around the gown. It can be removed by untying the gold ribbon beneath her breast should it need gentle hand washing

Her shroud is Victorian cotton from a damaged petticoat, this is not removable as it is sewn onto her in order to support her damage.

Lace edges are hand sewn from various scrap laces in my sewing box, some vintage, some modern. Crystals and pearls are glued and additional crystals, for crown and casket, will be included just in case you need to make some repairs over time.

She is completely unique and impossible to replicate so she will not, and cannot, be reproduced by my studio, entirely OOAK. Similar style OOAK dolls will be coming at a gentle pace, these ladies take an awful lot of time and patience! However feel free to make suggestions on what you would like to see next!
